Motorola releases kernel sources for the One Power and One Hyper’s Android 10 release
Motorola recently expanded its Moto One lineup with the launch of the Moto One Hyper. The new mid-range smartphone from the Lenovo-owned company offers impressive specifications at an affordable price point. Although admittedly a little late to the trend, it also marks the first phone from Motorola to feature a pop-up selfie camera. The device packs a 6.5-inch display, Snapdragon 675 SoC, dual rear cameras consisting of a 64MP primary and 8MP Ultra-wide sensors, 32MP front pop-up camera, and 4,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
The device came running Android 10 out-of-the-box, however, the kernel source code for the same wasn’t being made available up until now. That changes today as Motorola has finally released Android 10 kernel sources for the Moto One Hyper on their Github page.
Alongside the Moto One Hyper, Motorola has also released the updated kernel source code for the Moto One Power. The Moto One Hyper was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo back in August of 2018. It was subsequently updated to Android 9.0 Pie and received its final update in the form of Android 10 two months ago.
You can check out the kernel source code for Moto One Power’s Android 10 release at the link given below.
The release of the kernel source code should help jump-start the development of custom kernels and ROMs for both devices. In fact, Moto One Hyper owners with an unlocked bootloader can try out an unofficial port of OmniROM right now thanks to XDA Recognized Developer vache.
Keep an eye out on the XDA forum of your respective device to stay up to date with the latest developments.
